Introduction:
As an Admin of Survived, you’ll have several responsibilities. First and foremost, it will be your responsibility to maintain the server’s order by responding to player tickets, resolving in-game conflicts, spawning starter items for people as you see fit, and helping the Admin team create new content for players.
Below are the stated responsibilities of a Survived Admin, separated by section:
The Forums:
Survived Admins will be responsible for taking care of forum tickets, threads, whitelisted characters, and miscellaneous duties. By responding to character applications in a timely manner, Admins help the server thrive. By taking care of minor forum bugs, like repeat threads, deleted content, bio mess-ups, etc., Survived Admins help players navigate seamlessly, express their characters OOCly, and get the help they need if a dispute arises. Other duties include targeting abuse, warning players for toxic behaviour, and doing your best to make new players feel welcome. As a Survived Admin, you’ll be responsible for answering forum questions, helping new players, and explaining the rules when needed.
The Game:
In the game, Survived Admins will be responsible for assisting with disputes, healing lag bites, and helping players navigate through different bugs. Survived Admins are expected to hold no bias, so as to help players evenly. Other duties revolve around removing server errors, spawning new things, creating events for players, building new areas, and targeting any broken server rules.
The Events:
Survived Admins will fill the world with events, characters, locations, and stories for the player base. While Survived Admins are allowed to play their own “player characters,” they have the discretion to create story-based NPCs as needed. These characters, for the most part, operate as regular player characters. They will, however, have a deeply engrained resource base to provide quests, lore information, rewards, fights, robbery situations, hunts, and interesting RP for others. All of which must be agreed with the creative team before doing so. Failure to comply will result in the Admin account to be terminated.
As a Survived Admin, any Admin-controlled characters will go through screening on the Admin side, to ensure that any and all RP, on their end, serves to benefit the server as a whole—either through creating conflict, interesting opportunities, campfire RP, or similar situations. Understand: Because there is no “limit” on how long an Admin character can stick around for, the Survived Creative team will continuously make sure these characters are, in fact, serving the player base—rather than themselves or specific players.
Note: You can be a player and become an admin later on. Your current player characters, however, will need to be “dedicated” to the server’s growth. Please understand: This does not mean they’ll be given uber weapons, massive forts, and invulnerability. Rather, they’ll be given the same, strict treatment as any other Admin-controlled character. They’ll be “converted,” so to speak, to make sure that they exist to serve players by either offering quests, adding conflict, or creating other exciting RP. Yes, this means they can and will be killed in the name of providing RP, or if the Creative team feels it’s in the player base’s best interests. Admin-controlled characters, again, exist to serve the players. They may not be used to “win” the game. These characters will be repeatedly screened, so as to make sure they’re not targeting specific players unless it is providing an RP storyline. For example, a Creative Team character is targeting a head of a large faction because they lead their own faction also.
The Outside World:
Survived Admins are expected to uphold a certain degree of responsibility in the outside world. No, it isn’t a job, but it’s deserving of some responsibility. A Survived Admin is expected to handle conflict rationally, discuss server options with an open mind, and help promote a positive environment for players. There is a zero tolerance policy for player abuse, as the Survived Admin Team strives to be leaders while providing a comfortable, flexible environment for its players. Elitism, player bias, and other toxic behaviours are absolutely forbidden, so as to promote a healthy environment for as many players as possible.
